Just today Nokia announced several smartphones in the affordable price range and now most of these devices have already been listed on the Nokia India website under a coming soon tag. Among all the smartphones which were announced today, Nokia X+ Dual SIM, Nokia XL, Nokia X and Asha 230 Dual-SIM will be coming soon in India.
It should be noted that the first 3 smartphones among the four are all powered by the company's latest Nokia X platform which is built over AOSP. But despite using Android's Open Source code, Nokia has intelligently used Microsoft's Cloud for app data instead of Google's cloud. This has now already opened up Microsoft to a whole new group of consumers. The last one runs on Asha platform which is already quite popular.
Lets take look at the specs of these devices individually.
Nokia Asha 230 Dual SIM
The Asha 230 Dual SIM smartphone comes with a 2.8-inch QVGA touch screen,1.3-megapixel rear camera, Bluetooth 3.0 with Slam sharing feature, micro USB, MicroSD card slot that supports up to 32GB and packs a1020 mAh battery. It runs on the new Nokia Asha software platform v1.1.1 with new Nokia Fastlane features, Nokia Xpress Browser. These come pre-loaded with WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, LINE and WeChat. HERE Maps offers walking and driving directions. The Nokia Asha 230 Dual SIM comes in Bright Red, Yellow, Bright Green, White, Black and Cyan colors. These are priced at 45 Euros (approx Rs. 3,840).
This one comes with a 4-inch WVGA display with a resolution of 480×800 pixels. It is powered by a 1GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Play processor coupled with 768MB of RAM and houses an internal storage capacity of 4GB with microSD card support up to 32GB. You can also find a 3MP fixed focus camera on the rear side of the device. Besides being a dual SIM handset, it also supports 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS connectivity options. It is powered by 1500mAh battery. The Nokia X+ is expected to be available later around early Q2, 2014 and is priced at 99Euros (approx Rs. 8,500).
Nokia X comes with a same 4-inch WVGA display similar to the above one,. Even the processor and clock remains same with 1GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Play but there is a difference in the RAM which is less in this one with only 512MB. Almost everything is same including the camera battery, internal storage capacity, microSD, Dual SIM, connectivity and other software features. Nokia X, which comes in Green, Cyan, White, Black, Red color variants is priced at 89Euros (approx Rs. 7,500).
This one is a bit bigger phone with 5-inch WVGA display (480×800 pixels). Again the same 1GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Play, 768MB RAM, microSD card support up to 32GB, Dual SIM, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS can be found in this one as well. However a better 5MP auto focus camera with Flash and 2MP front camera is a better addition along with a 2000mAh battery power. The Nokia XL is priced at 109 Euros (approx Rs. 9,500)
