It started with Huawei then Samsung added spice to it and now its Finnish giant Nokia who has plans to create magic. The coming of giant smartphone in the market is no more a secret. When Chinese major Huawei announced Ascend Mate 6.1, everyone was shocked to know how big the device looks.
Few days ago, the South Korean giant Samsung started something on the lines of Huawei with the impending announcement of Mega 5.8 and the Galaxy Mega 6.3. While the former Samsung made handset boosts of a giant 5.8-inch display with 1.4GHz dual-core processor. On the other hand, the Galaxy Mega 6.3 recently got listed by UK based retailer Clove for Rs. 38,470. It is expected to land in July.
Nokia, the forgettable tech vendor, is also working on a Phablet device. Indeed the Finnish giant has plans to announce one, but when? Industry sources believe that the makers behind Nokia Lumia 925 could announce a 6-inch smartphone early next year.
Microsoft is planning to announce General Distribution Release (GDR3) update sometime later this year. Digitimes reports that Huawei is also making a grand device having 6.5-inch display. It is unknown when the handset reaches Indian handset market.
"Additionally, Huawei is also considering developing a 6.5-inch smartphone, the sources said, adding that other handset vendors are likely to follow in Huawei's footsteps and bump up development of 6-inch and larger handsets ".
