Nokia 808 Pureview Update on Camera and Gallery Finally Comes to India

The new Nokia software update on Nokia 808 Pureview has eventually landed in India. The update is only 2MB in size and should take no longer than 5 minutes to install. Nokia made this Gallery and Camera update available for its imaging super-champ Nokia 808 PureView back in March. The update has been pushed through Software Update application.

Reportedly, the update will provide users with "improved Gallery and benefit from multiple image sharing feature. This update also includes usability and quality improvements for both Gallery and Camera." Basically, the new update will allow the users to easily select multiple images on their devices and then share them on Facebook, Flickr or Twitter.

Also as per Nokia, reports stated that the update would provide updated Gallery which will offer features like sharing multiple images via Nokia Share as well as via MMS and Bluetooth. This update also includes performance update for 808 Camera System. Although, there was no noticeable features reported in the 808 Camera Software update but one thing noticed by Fonearena was an accurate Auto White Balance performance in indoor photography with Flash on.

This update is now available Over-the-Air (OTA) for the Nokia 808 PureView. Good thing is that, Nokia remembers the PureView 808 for new features and firmware updates.

To recap the specs, PureView 808 houses a 4 inch AMOLED ClearBlack capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 360 x 640 pixels, 1.3GHz ARM 11 processor, 512MB RAM, 16GB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, 41MP rear camera with Xenon flash and 1080p video recording capability, VGA front camera for video calling, Symbian Belle OS, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and a 1,400 mAh battery. The official price of the handset in the market is Rs 17,999.
