Nokia Sea Ray: Nokia First Windows OS Phone
Nokia is one of the few mobile manufacturers and in fact the only premium mobile manufacturer that is yet to launch a mobile or Smartphone powered by Android or Windows based OS. However both these facts are going to change soon.
Nokia is all set to reveal its latest mobile gizmo, a Windows based mobile handset. The CEO of Nokia Stephen Elop unintentionally brought to light the phone at an internal function. The phone that was showcased was not allowed to be photographed but yet some people managed to do so. This private exhibition of the phone made Nokia stand apart from the likes of Apple when it comes to secrecy surrounding new launches.
According to Media reports the details of the event and the phone was leaked to the internet by a Hungarian Website called Technet.hu that posted a video covering the event. The video showed Mr Elop showing the phone to the limited audience present at the event.
The Smartphone showcased is reportedly codenamed Sea Ray. The new gadget has close resemblance to the recently unveiled Nokia N9.
It is expected that Nokia"s Windows OS based phone will become a big success and become a major contributor to Nokia"s income once it is subjected to a World wide release. Nokia has recently revealed quite a number of phones ranging from Economy class models to high end Smartphone"s. Nokia also showcased 2 Made in India Dual SIM handsets that was intended to make the brand a favourite among the common man of India.
According to rumours the Nokia Sea Ray will be equipped with a powerful 8 Mega Pixel camera and will feature a Carl Zeiss Optical lens for superb image quality.
Nokia"s first Windows OS based phone is also expected to feature a 1 GHz processor for superfast performance. The other specs of the phone are not known, but we can be assured that it will contain the latest in entertainment and multimedia technologies as well as connectivity and communication options.
According to Nokia, the Nokia Sea Ray is the result of a strategic tie-up of Nokia and Microsoft that took place in February 2011.
Smartphone buffs worldwide will have to wait till the end of 2011 for getting their hands on the Sea Ray. It is expected to have a December 2011 launch but the pricing and exact specifications are still to be announced by Nokia.
