Oppo Find 7 With 2K Display Launched Alongside Find 7a: All That You Should Know
There was already a lot going on in the gossip section about the Oppo Find 7 smartphone since a month. Now the Chinese smartphone maker, which entered the Indian market recently, has announced the device along with the trimmed down variant of the handset called Find 7a. However, both the handsets can be called as the successors of the company's previously released handset Find 5.
The Oppo Find 7 will be available in midnight black and white color variants and is priced at 3,498 Chinese Yuan which translates to Rs. 34,450 in Indian currency. The company has not spoken about the availability of the device in other markets although it will hit the Chinese market on March 20th. The downsized version Oppo Find 7a with a 1080p would also be made available in the China the same day and would cost 2,998 Chinese Yuan (approx. Rs. 29,570).

Both these devices come with identical specs although there are slight differences. Lets take a look at the specs of the devices individually.
Oppo Find 7
The newly released Find 7 comes with a 5.5-inch LTPS display from JDI with Conning gorilla glass protection and Touch-on-Lens technology. It is a Quad HD display offering a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels and churns out 538ppi pixel density. It is powered by a 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974AC) processor with Adreno 330 GPU and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) with a layer of Color OS 1.2 on top. There is a 3GB RAM supporting the CPU.
There is a 13MP rear camera with Dual-mode LED Flash, Sony Exmor BSI sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 4K video recording along with a 5MP front-facing camera with BSI sensor and f/2.0 aperture. The impressive part is that it uses software enhancements to images at 50-megapixel (8,160 x 6,120 pixels) resolution by capturing. The camera is also capable of shooting RAW images and has 4K video recording.
The device comes with 32 GB internal memory unit which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. In connectivity section, users will find 4G LTE / 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4/5 GHz), WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB OTG support as well.
The device which measures 152.6x75x9.2mm and weigh 171 grams is powered by a 3000mAh battery with VOOC fast charging which is capable of charging the battery to 75% in 30 minutes. The screen has Content Adaptive Backlight Control (CABC) system into the screen panel that reduces power by consumption reducing the brightness of the screen automatically.
Oppo Find 7a
This one comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p Full HD IPS display (1920 x 1080 pixels) which churns out a 403 ppi pixel density and is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Quad Core (MSM8974AB) and Adreno 330 GPU and runs on ColorOS 1.2.0 based on Android 4.3 platform. There is also a 2GB RAM supporting the CPU. It comes with a 16 GB ROM which is expandable as well. Users will also find 13-megapixel IMX214 Sony camera with dedicated ISP, Dual-mode LED and Aperture f/2.0. The smartphone which measures 152.6 ×75 × 9.2 mm and weighs 170 grams comes powered by a 2,800 mAh (Rapid Charge) battery.
You can see that the only major difference is the display resolution and apart from that almost everything remains the same. But it should be noted that the Find 7 is the first smartphone with the QHD display and if it comes to India at the same price as mentioned earlier than it would still be be a better choice. Samsung and Apple have their high-end smartphone models priced close to half a lakh rupees, thus these latest Oppo smartphones might just make a potential rivals to these high-end devices like Galaxy Note 3 and even the Galaxy S5. Also Apple iPhone 5S and 5C can be on threat.
