Apart from launching the N3 flagship smartphone, Oppo unveiled its first ever 64-bit smartphone, which is also the world's thinnest. The Oppo R5 is now officially "the world's slimmest smartphone". The device hardly measures 4.85mm thick, making it the slimmest phone in the world.
Oppo has created a special cooling element made from liquid-metal and phase-change materials to take heat away from the chipset. The frame of the handset is made of 3D welded aluminum alloy.
Claimed to be the word's slimmest smartphone, the new age handset comes with a respectable 5.2-inch AMOLED FHD screen and an octa-core Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 1.5GHz. It's a Snapdragon 615 processor.
The Oppo N3 maker has included a 13-megapixel IMX214 sensor and an f/2.0 aperture, alongside a 5MP shooter.
Other connectivity options include: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3G, 2G, LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, 2000 mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat.
The Oppo R5 will be available shortly for around $499 or Rs. 30,439. Indian users should expect the device to land in the country by end of this year.
