Oppo hasn't had a great deal of success in the premium handset range. Nevertheless, the Chinese handset manufacturer hasn't given up just yet. The firm is only days away from revealing the Oppo R7 - the successor to the original R5 Android-powered handset.

Oppo R7: 5-inch FHD Smartphone Gets Certified in China

The latest leaks regarding Oppo's impending R7 smartphone claim the newest smartphone has been certified in China. In addition, it's being reported that at least two versions of the Oppo R7 have been certified in China by TENAA. Apparently, there is one model for China Telecom (R7c), and another model for China Mobile (R7t).

The Oppo R7c features a 64-bit octa-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon 615 CPU. The China Mobile model (R7t) is powered by an octa-core 1.7GHz MediaTek MT6752. Other than that, there's hardly any difference between the two models.

According to local media reports, the Oppo R7 will boast a 5-inch FHD screen, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of on-board storage, a microSD card slot, Android 4.4 KitKat, a 13MP rear-facing camera, an 8MP front shooter, a 2320mAh battery and more. Reportedly, the phone comes with 2.5D glass screen, it doesn't feature a fingerprint scanner.

The TENAA certification also showed that the handset will be crafted out of metal, and is 6.3mm thick. If rumours have anything to go by, Oppo will soon unveil the R7 Plus alongside the R7 model on May 20 in India.
