More great news for Panasonic fans. According to reports, Panasonic India has launched its brand new Eluga A, the company's second smartphone in the Eluga series in India. Prior to this, the company had already released the Eluga U handset.
While the phone necessarily falls in the budget segment of the market, the highlight of this new phone lies in the fact that it comes with Kwik Lock that requires you to double tap on the home screen to lock the phone. Rememeber LG's Knock tech?
Apart from that, the handset also offers its Fit Home UI for easier single Hand operation, Qualcomm Snapdragon Audio+ audio enhancement, and Snapdragon Voice+ voice enhancement for clearer conversations.
Other enhancements include Snapdragon BatteryGuru and support for Indian languages such as Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu and Marathi. This lets you browse the web, chat and navigate the phone menu in local language.
"Through ELUGA, Panasonic will bring advanced technological innovations to the Indian smartphone users and with ELUGA A, we have successfully integrated into the premium gadget, advanced technology for Audio enhancements, voice clarity, faster charging, longer battery life and local language features, in tune with the needs of the Indian consumer," said Manish Sharma, Managing Director, Panasonic India, at the launch.
Panasonic Eluga A: Highlighted Specifications
The new Panasonic Eluga A, priced at Rs. 9,490, comes with a 5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) IPS display. The handset is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor with Adreno 302 GPU, although it runs on the dated Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) OS.
This new dual SIM handset sports an 8MP rear camera with LED Flash, with 1080p video recording, and 1.3MP front-facing camera. The device is 9.2mm thick and offers 1GB RAM, 4GB internal memory, and 32GB expandable memory with MicroSD.
Connectivity options include 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS. And the device is juiced by a 2000mAh battery. The handset also comes with a free screen guard.
