LG is Working on the Biggest Rival to Apple iPhone 6 Plus

A new report says the next-generation handset from LG will have a 5.6-inch display. Until this point, we've only heard about specific changes LG may be planning on the hardware side. This is for the first time we're hearing any rumors pertaining to the G4's screen size.

In order to standout in a sea of premium phones, the LG G4 could sport a 5.6-inch, 2560 x 1440 Quad HD display. This would not be a big bump from the G3's 5.5-inch QHD screen size, and would make the LG G4 oddly similar to its predecessor. A separate report suggests that the LG could take things further, with a 3K resolution display -this could equate to around 2880 x 1620 pixels - and pixel density of 600 pixels-per-inch.

LG is Working on the Biggest Rival to Apple iPhone 6 Plus

The original LG G3 was launched in May 2014 and quickly became one of the best selling handsets in the premium range. Thanks to its impressive 5.5-inch QHD display, the device was well received in the tech community.

Previous rumor in the past have claimed that the LG G4 would come with an all-new design alongside a smaller screen, just like the Galaxy S6. New rumors, meanwhile, claim the G4 to sport a 5.6-inch QHD screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440, which itself indicates the LG G4 won't be too different from its predecessor - the great LG G3.

LG G4 -Specs and LTE

Aside from a crystal clear 5.6-inch display, the LG G4 is rumored to tout a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 CPU, which would make it the fourth mainstream smartphone with a 64-bit processor.

Other rumored guts included healthy 3GB of RAM, 32GB/ 64GB of native storage, microSD card support, Android 5.0 Lollipop, a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with OIS, a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter and a 3,400mAh battery. Of course, the G4 handset will offer 4G LTE connectivity.

We expect to learn more on May 2015, which is when the company is rumored to announce the G4 flagship device.
