Samsung Announces Galaxy S4 LTE-A: Now Download 800MB Data in 43 Seconds

|

It seems 3G will be extinct couple of years down the line. 4G LTE networks are the networks to talk about these days but it seems that was also not enough for Koreans. SK Telecom in Korea had announced the world's first LTE Advanced network in Seoul, which was capable of speeds up to 150Mbps, and users could download an 800MB file in an astonishing 43 seconds.

However, LTE Advanced mobile network doesn't do any good with having a mobile to support it. So far it was just the network, but now Samsung has announced a new version of the Galaxy S4 that can take up the super speed of SK Telecom's LTE-A service.

Samsung Announces Galaxy S4 LTE-A: Now Download 800MB Data in 43 Secs

Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A is a worth mentioning device as it is the world's first LTE Advanced-capable smartphone in Korea that would offer twice the speeds of LTE. The phone looks like the popular Galaxy S4 but has a bit of a key difference (aside from the LTE-A connectivity); i.e. this newer version of Galaxy S4 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor that is clocked to 2.3GHz. Reports suggest that the LTE-A Galaxy S4 will be sold in Arctic Blue and Aurora Red color.

Other specs remain the same. It sports a 5-inch Full HD offering a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and features a Super AMOLED display and runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean platform supported by 2GB RAM. The Galaxy S4 LTE-A comes with the similar 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, full HD video recording and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera. It houses 32GB of internal storage memory and a T-DMB tuner and 2600 mAh battery.

LTE-A Galaxy S4 has unique features including Smart Pause, Smart Scroll, S Translator, S Travel (Trip Advisor), S Voice Drive, S Health, in addition the Korean version would come with ImageON feature which analyzes images from the camera, then identifies and plays videos related to the image with just one click and Digital Media Broadcasting service that offers access to live television programs on-the-go.

Galaxy S4 is the first of seven LTE-A smartphones SK Telecom has planned for the second half of the year while Samsung says that this handset is the first commercially-available LTE-Advanced smartphone.

However the device is like to get the undivided attention of the mobile phone geeks and tech world as a whole. With its upgraded processor and LTE-Advanced support, the Galaxy S4 LTE-A may become the future of the mobile handsets.

Sadly, there is no information on the price of the speedy device as of now but it may be expected to come within the second have of the year.
