Samsung Chat 222 Vs Samsung Chat 527 Head To Head Comparison
Samsung's QWERTY keypad revolution now has 2 more members in their group- Samsung Chat 222 and Samsung Chat 527. But the skeptical thing is obvious-Which of the 2 is more likely to be the customer's favorite?. Out of the 2 handsets, the latter is the successor.

Both the handsets look almost the same - stylish, elegant and sleek.

But the catch lies in the specifications. Samsung Chat 222 is a dual SIM GSM cell phone whereas the Chat 527 is the regular type, single SIM model. But when it comes to Internet connectivity, the successor rocks the joint. Samsung Chat 527 stands tall with 3G connectivity and the first handset in the chat series to have it while the Samsung Chat 222 has only GPRS connectivity to its credit. If it's the display you care about, then Chat 527 will be the only choice among the two handsets, because it possesses a 256k color, 2.4 inch display supporting a resolution up to 240 x 320 pixels while Chat 222 stands behind the line with its 2.2 inch screen and a resolution of at most 176 x 220 pixels.

Chat 527 can operate in 2G and 3G networks. Bands for 2G are GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 and for 3G connectivity, it's HSDPA 900 / 2100. One thing you'll like which is common for the 2 competitors here, is that they both have affordable and attractively low price tag for such awesome features. Both SIMS in the Samsung Chat 222 can be operated simultaneously and works in the GSM bands mentioned above. Another common feature in both the handsets is that both of them will make you feel very comfortable while texting, so comfortable in fact, that you will be pretty fast in texting very soon and all thanks to the QWERTY keypad and the optical trackpads in the handsets. So obviously chatting becomes easier.

If you care about the camera in such affordable handsets, then Chat 222 would be a disappointment with its VGA camera, which actually does capture pictures with nice quality though but not that good in resolution. But Chat 527 provides the user with pictures of great resolution, a maximum of 1200 x 1600 pixels resolution, but lacks a secondary camera (a trait shared by both handsets). So there is no option for video calls using the 3G feature.

Now you will probably be thinking about the audio quality of the 2 handsets. But before getting into that, just think what you can do if you can connect good music stereo-speakers to the handset. Well, you can actually, because Chat 222 and 527 comes with a standard 3.5 mm jack. Now you can enjoy good music with better quality and greater sound. Both of these handsets offer good audio players and sound quality supporting Mp3/eAAC+ audio formats. But the successor has greater audibility. The video player is commendable supporting MP4/H.264 for both the handsets.

Chat 222 lacks WLAN, but has standard USB and Bluetooth connectivity as in regular phones. Chat 527 shares almost the same above mentioned features except for the fact that it doesn't lack WLAN connection and is integrated with apps to manage facebook and twitter. As a matter of fact, it supports GPRS and EDGE connectivity along with 3G.

The 2 cell phones are integrated with 43 MB and 80 MB internal memory which is expansive of course up to 16 GB and 32 GB (Both Micro SD) respectively for Chat 222 and Chat 527. The predecessor offers 12 hours of talk time and stand by time for 550 hours, while the successor gives you 3 hours talk time and 288 hours in standby mode. All regular call functions are there for both.

Samsung Chat 222 can be yours for a relatively low price of Rs 3500/- approximately and the price of Samsung Chat 527 has not been released yet but may be this week, it will be known. But it's said to be cost effective and affordable. So the estimated price is Rs 5000/-.
