Samsung Galaxy Alpha Started Receiving Android 5.0 update

South Korean giant, Samsung has started rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Galaxy Alpha (SM-G850). This update starts from its home market and reach other countries over the weekend.

According to SamMobile, the company has rolled-out the update for Galaxy Alpha variants of all three major telecom operators in the country - KT, SKT and LG U+. The update is available over-the-air as well as via Samsung Kies application.

Lollipop update comes with new material design which offers a bold, colorful and responsive UI, refreshing notification system.

It will also allow the users to see the notification in the lock screen and they will get displayed like banners on the top of the screen.

Additionally, there is a do-not-disturb feature added to the notification bar. This update also contains battery optimization, which includes battery saver mode, job scheduling and a new developer tool called Battery Historian which tracks the battery consumption by an application.

As of now, none of these updates have reached the Indian market, but we expect them to arrive soon.
