Samsung Galaxy Core Now Available to Buy At Rs 15,199: 5 Devices Under Threat

Early this month Gizbot had reported about Samasung Galaxy Core being listed on Saholic under coming soon list any now the device is already up for sale and is available on Infibeam at Rs. 15,199. While on Flipkart and Saholic, it is still under coming soon tag.

 

Going by the specs, the latest Samsung Galaxy Core has a dual SIM support with a dual GSM standby mode along with a downloadable VoIP client. 2G is taken care by quadband (GSM 850/900/1800/1900) while 3G runs on HSUPA 900/2100.

Samsung Galaxy Core comes with a 4.3-inch TFT LCD touchscreen display with the resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. Samsung Galaxy Core runs on Android v4.1 Jelly Bean platform and is equipped with dual-core processing chip clocked to 1.2GHz and backed by 1GB RAM. Galaxy Core includes a 5-megapixel rear camera with a LED flash, autofocus and has the capability to shoot @30fps.

It also sports a front facing VGA camera for video calling. The Galaxy Core comes with the internal storage capacity of 8GB which can be enhanced up to 32 GB via microSD card. Connectivity options include, GPRS, 3G, Bluetooth, A-GPS, Wi-Fi, EDGE and USB. The Galaxy Core is powered by Li-ion 1,800 mAh battery for longer life. Other features include music player, FM radio, Android browser, native IM & social networking. Several other popular functions also feature on this device including S-Voice, Smart and Smart Stay Alert and more.

Samsung Galaxy Core is likely to face a harsh competition against many devices in the market with the similar specs, features and price. There are devices like HTC Desire X, Sony Xperia J, Sony Xperia Neo L, HTC Desire XDS, LG Optimus Black, Lenovo Arizona and not to mention Samsung's own flagships like Galaxy S Advance and others from Galaxy series.

The HTC Desire X priced at Rs. 15350 on Flipkart is a 4 Inch Super LCD capacitive touchscreen device that supports WVGA, 800 x 480 pixel resolution with 16 M colors depth. The Desire X runs on Android v4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS and is powered by 1 GHz dual core ARM Cortex-A5 with 768 MB RAM and also features Adreno 203 GPU. A major plus of the Desire X is the user-friendly HTC Sense 4.0 user interface that delivers endless customization and easy navigation. The Desire X sports a 5 Megapixel camera with autofocus and doesn't have a secondary camera. The phone features the as usual Beats Audio as well. The Android phone has an internal memory of 4 GB that can be expanded up to 32 GB using micro SD. Connectivity options include USB, Bluetooth, GPRS, EDGE, 3G and Wi-Fi. The Desire X is also equipped with DLNA. The phone's 1650 mAh Li-Ion battery supports up to 20 hours talktime.

The Galaxy Core is cheaper than the Desire XDS and also has a biger display. Samsung Galaxy Core is also a dual SIM device with latest version of Android Jelly Bean platform compared to Desire X. The phone comes with a sleek and stylish bezel while being encased in Corning Gorilla Glass on one side. Sony Xperia runs on the older version of Android v4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. The device is powered by 1GHz Cortex A5 processor supported by the Adreno 200 graphics chip along with a 512 MB RAM. The device comes with an inbuilt memory of 4 GB that is expandable up to 32 GB via an microSD card. It also comes with a USB Port for charging and file transfers. The device sports a 5 MP rear camera and there is a 0.3 MP front facing unit as well. The camera also features LED flash and digital zoom of 4x. The Desire XDS has built-in Beats Audio support like its other devices. The Desire XDS features a dual SIM support feature. Talking about the storage, the Desire XDS houses a 4GB internal storage capacity which is expandable up to 32 GB via microSD. The processor is supported by a 768MB RAM. Connectivity options include 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS / aGPS. The device is powered by 1650 mAh battery. The Desire XDS is priced at Rs. 15,330 on Flipkart.

The Desire XDS sports a lesser display of 4 inchescompared to that of Galaxy Core. The device is powered by a lesser processor and runs on older verion of Android. Both the devices are similarly priced but Galaxy Core is definately a worth buy.

The LG Optimus Black is very similar too the Galaxy Core and there is only the difference of the display size and a bit of lower processor of the Optimus Black and a dual SIM support of Galaxy Core. Other than that everything remains to be the same. However, if the buyer has a tight budget may opt Optimus Black.
