These days it's not hard to get a quad-core based handset under Rs. 15,000. Of course quad-core smartphones are fast, quick, and handle multi-tasking with such proficiency. That doesn't mean dual-core processors are passé.
Companies like Nokia and BlackBerry still relying on dual-core CPUs for a time being. On the other hand, the Zen Ultrafone 701 HD is a brand new handset from Indian tech vendor. It comes with a 5-inch IPS LCD display with 1280 x 720 pixels, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, and sells for Rs. 11,999, in the Indian market. Let's compare the raw specifications of both devices. Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro vs. Zen Ultrafone 701 HD: Specs Comparison
The South Korean giant recently updated its Grand range by announcing a big ticket handset ---the Galaxy Grand Quattro. The original version i.e. Samsung Galaxy Grand had dual -core processor. The latter device just bears the brand name, as the former version is quite famous in the Indian market. Talking about the display, the handset comes with 4.7-inch WVGA display with resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Comparing to Zen Ultrafone 701 HD then it would be difficult for Samsung to win, as the latter handset packs 5-inch IPS LCD display with resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It simply means the latter handset is HD ready.
Operating System (OS)
When you purchase a new handset, it is important to check whether the device is running on the latest version of Android OS or not. And do check from handset manufacturer whether the device is upgradable to immediate next version. The Zen Ultrafone 701 HD comes loaded with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. GizBot suspect that this very device might get Android 4.3 Jelly Bean in future via future updates. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro is powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Processor and RAM
The Galaxy Grand Quattro from Samsung comes with 1.2GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. You can find number of number of Samsung devices having quad-core chips inside. So, going by the track record ---the South Korean giant effortlessly win this round. But a wait a second, this very Samsung device is available for under Rs.18, 000. It is to be seen whether Samsung have guts to crush Ultrafone 701 HD. The latter handset also flaunts 1.2-GHz quad-core processor along with 1GB of RAM. So, completion is rather tough. Both won on paper, but the real competition starts when GizBot test these two handsets in a minutest way.
These days it's hard to ignore camera optics. Consumers now want an all -in-one device that features brilliant camera with addition to futuristic software features. The Zen Ultrafone 701 HD packs enhanced 8-mega pixel rear facing camera with Auto Focus with BSI sensor, LED Flash, and ability to record Full HD videos. It also features a 3.2 -mega pixel front facing camera given on the front. When comes to Galaxy Grand Quattro has a 5-mega pixel rear facing camera with LED Flash and Auto Flash support. If you are into Skype then do take advantage of VGA quality videos by using front facing cameras.

The Galaxy Grand Quattro comes with a plethora of connectivity options to choose from. The Zen Ultrafone 701 HD is no different from Galaxy Grand Quattro in terms of connectivity options. GizBot compared the Zen Ultrafone 701 HD with Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro. By all means, Zen has managed to craft a decent device with a 5-inch IPS LCD display ( 720p), an 8-mega pixel rear facing camera and 3.2MP front facing camera, noise cancellation headphones and Full HD video recording.
One can ignore the price Rs. 11,999 price of Ultrafone 701 HD either. Samsung should have made Galaxy Grand Quattro at par with Micrmax Canvas HD and Zen manufactured Ultrafone 701 HDi in terms of specs, at least.
