The South Korean giant has launched the dual SIM version of the their flagship handset in India at a price of Rs 21,500. Galaxy Grand was unveiled at a special event in Mumai, which was also screened live in Delhi.

 

Further, as an introductory special offer, Samsung is also offering handset along with a free Flip Cover in the box along with 50 GB Dropbox storage and other attractive freebies. For those who are interested to buy this new mid-range hybrid of Note and S3, Galaxy Grand will hit the retail shelves from the first week of February 2013.

Galaxy Grand - Key Specifications

While unwrapping the handset at the special media event, Samsung officials informed that Galaxy Grand will land boasting a 5 inch multi-touch LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 480 x 800 pixel resolution, dual core 1.2GHz processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera for video calling, 8GB internal storage capacity, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 64GB additional storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB, HDMI, A-GPS, DLNA and a 2,100 mAh Li-ion battery.

What About Preloaded Applications?

It was also informed that Samsung Grand Grand will come packed with pre-loaded including ChatOn, which is Samsung's unique cross-platform communication service and several other applications like Games Hub, My Services that will offer myMovies, myMusic, myMobileTV, myStation, myReader and myEducation.

Price & Availability

The dual SIM variant of Galaxy Grand is priced at Rs 21,500 and will be available for sale from the first week of February 2013. Galaxy Grand will come in two color options - Elegant White and Metallic Blue.

Lastly, at the same time, the user will be able to access the data including contacts, messages and more from both the SIMs.

During the launch, Samsung also flaunted that the Galaxy Grand has got enthrusted with the special multi-window feature, which is already available in Galaxy Note 2 and in the Jelly Bean upgraded Galaxy S3 handsets.

The company officials noted that there may be various smartphones in the market equipped with Android Jelly Bean OS, however, due to the low specs combination, especially processor and battery life, the handsets are not able to give full justice to the Google's latest operating system.
