Samsung Galaxy J: 5 Inch Full HD Smartphone Goes Official in Taiwan

|

Samsung Galaxy J is not a widely known device from Samsung till now, but in the coming days it might become popular. After the disastrous performance shown by the Galaxy S4, Samsung would have thought for a replacement.

Well, instead of launching a new variant of Galaxy S4, Samsung launched a new handset that could probably give the tech vendor a reason to smile. Meet the Galaxy J---a re-energized version of Galaxy S4.

After much hype and curiosity, Samsung finally announced the device for the Taiwanese market. Originally, the handset was first launched in Japan. Now looking at the response received in Japan, Samsung is all set to launch the device in another major territory. The Galaxy J will likely to be made available in Taiwan in the mid-December or January first week in Taiwan, informs VR Zone.

Amusingly, the South Korean giant hasn't announced the Galaxy J in its native market. The company is yet to confirm the retail availability of the said device in other major territories like India, China and US.

GizBot have been covering the launch of Galaxy J rather closely. So by now you have a fair idea about the device. The Galaxy J is a gorgeous device, so definitely the expectations around the device may have been high for consumers.

The Galaxy J could have been a special variant of Galaxy S4, but Samsung crafted entirely a new handset. The Galaxy J is a mash up of Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4. This oddly shaped handset neither tries to be the Galaxy S4 nor the Galaxy Note 3 for that matter.

Coming back to the specifications, the Galaxy J incorporates a 5-inch Super AMOLED display having a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The phone is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core processor powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory. Android 4.3 Jelly Bean comes out of the box.

There's a 13MP rear-facing camera with LED Flash and a 2.1MP front-facing camera on the front. The makers have added a 2600mAh battery fitted side. Other connectivity features include: NFC, Wi-Fi, 3G, among other features. Moreover, the Galaxy J does not come with S Pen stylus.

VR Zone is reporting that Samsung Galaxy J will be priced at 21,900 NTD (Rs.45,214). The handset will be made available only in two colors (white and red). The phone is enticing, but is Samsung ready to announce the Galaxy J in India. Watch this space for more!
