It looks like the much anticipated Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 has gone on sale in Malaysia. The monster device has been spotted many a time in the past few weeks before it went on sale in Malaysia over the weekend.
The listing of the device itself confirms the existence of the Galaxy Mega 2, although, Samsung hasn't gone official with a large screen phone yet.
The Galaxy Mega 2 is now available at an authorized retailer SenHeng for RM 1,299 (about Rs. 24,800, approximately).
Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 - Highlighted Specifications
The much anticipated Galaxy Mega 2 is now on sale in Malaysia (unofficial). Talking about its spec sheet, the handset comes with a 6-inch display having a resolution of 1280 x 720-pixels. It is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, coupled with 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of on-board storage and a microSD card slot. The smartphone runs on the latest Android 4.4 (KitKat).
On the imaging capability, there's an 8-megapixel rear-facing shooter, and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. The device is also available in Black and White colors.
Samsung Galaxy Mega Series - An Overview
After the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S5, it was rumored that the South Korean giant would unveil the successor to the original Galaxy Mega. The Samsung Galaxy Mega was announced last year in two models: one with a 5.8-inch display and the other with the 6.3-inch screen. The latter model was appreciated citing decent screen resolution.
The Galaxy Mega lineup has been seen as a low cost alternative to Samsung's famed Note series. Thus, consumers were anxious to see the incoming of updated Galaxy Mega lineup.
Earlier rumors hinted at 2GB of RAM and a 12MP rear-facing camera, but it turns out to be an all different specs.
Samsung may showcase the new Galaxy Mega 2 smartphone alongside the Galaxy Note 4 in Berlin on September 3.
