Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to go on Sale in UK before US

Samsung the South Korean tech giant has confirmed the release date of the Galaxy Note 2 – the 5.5 inch device as far as UK is concerned. Likewise the Galaxy S3, the lucky chaps at UK will be the fortunate ones to have the Galaxy Note 2 at first.

Simon Stanford, Vice President, UK & IRE Telecommunications & Networks Division, Samsung UK and Ireland was quoted saying, “The introduction of the original Galaxy Note was a great success - we succeeded in creating an entirely new category and went on to sell more than ten million devices globally. With the Galaxy Note II,.....We were delighted by the hugely positive response we received when we first announced the Galaxy Note II at IFA back in August. The Galaxy Note II is a whole new level of innovation and we are confident users are going to enjoy the updated features and design of our latest Galaxy device when it hits the shelves on the 1st of October.”

On Monday, independent retailer Phones4U in UK, provides the Galaxy Note 2 on T-Mobile, Orange, O2 and Vodafone, the orders of which will start from October 2 as rumored earlier.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is packed with high-end features including a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, 1.6GHz quad core processor, 2GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting 32GB, 8MP rear camera, 1.9MP front camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth with A2DP and a mammoth 3,100 mAh Li-ion battery.

Further, running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, the Galaxy Note 2 comes in three different configurations – 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.

Also, the Galaxy Note 2 comes with a Wacom-based Samsung "S Pen," which has been redesigned for easier grip and better on-screen action.

Samsung confirms that the Note 2 will be available in Marble White and Titanium Grey color variants. The phablet will be available first at the Samsung brand store at Westfield shopping center in Stratford, London and in the other major networks and independent retailers across UK.
