Samsung's newest offering on the Galaxy Note series, dubbed the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo, may have already gone live for customers based in the Indian sub-continent. However, with a base price of Rs 40,990, the device may have already headed out of a number of wishlists.
Nonetheless, the Galaxy Note 3 Neo hexacore smartphone has been given a second chance to make its way to the customers as the device's 40k price tag has been subsidized for the time being. The device is now available for a lesser price tag of Rs. 37,999.
The latest price drop was revealed on Twitter by a retailer in Mumbai, Mahesh Telecom. The tweet reads, "New launch #samsung #galaxynote3neo #discount price ₹ 37999/- (stocks in 2-3 days)"
While that may not sound that big a price alteration for the smartphone (since its just a cut of around 3k), but it still might just act as an aphrodisiac for all those who are looking to buy the device, while also planning to save as much money as possible in doing so.
In case you haven't been following up on the device and what's it all about, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo will be running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The device will sport a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display offering a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels.
While the new device has a close resemblance with the original Note 3, there are notable differences when the device's length and width are considered. The device measures 148.4 x 77.4 x 8.6 mm and weighs 162.5 grams.
Apart from that, the Note 3 Neo features 16GB of on-board storage and a microSD card slot for further expanding the memory up to 64 GB. Also, an 8MP camera with BSI sensor has been offered that comes with a maximum of 1080p video recording. The Note 3 Neo also comes fitted with a 2MP front-facing camera for video calls and selfies.
Importantly enough, Samsung has fitted the Galaxy Note 3 Neo with a hexa-core chipset with two 1.7GHz Cortex-A15 cores and four 1.3GHz Cortex A7 cores. The advantage of the Hexacore processor is that the device will now be running all six cores simultaneously courtesy of Heterogeneous Multi-Processing (HMP).
Lastly, the device's connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, GPS/GLONASS and also a certain IR blaster (that's available depending on the region).
TouchWiz will naturally be present with the device that will be juiced by a 3100mAh battery.
