Samsung unleashed its Neo series of smartphones and tablet device at the company's annual event Samsung Forum 2014, held a week before the International Mobile World Congress 2014 ealrlier in February. Among all the devices which were launched, the Galaxy Note 3 Neo was one of the best one and came in high-end price category.
The Galaxy Note 3 Neo was initially released in India at the price of Rs. 38,990. Soon the price of the device was lowered to Rs 37,999 and now the recent reports online are suggesting that the device has now received another price cut to Rs. 33,900. Given the discounted price of the device, the Galaxy Note 3 Neo will thus be able to take on a highly popular devices like LG G2 and Nexus 5 as well.
Going by the specs, the Galaxy note 3 Neo looks very much similar to the Galaxy Note 3. The hardware is different though. The device will sport a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display offering a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The device measures 148.4 x 77.4 x 8.6 mm and weighs 162.5 grams.
Apart from that, the Note 3 Neo features 16GB of on-board storage and a microSD card slot for further expanding the memory up to 64 GB. Also, an 8MP camera with BSI sensor has been offered that comes with a maximum of 1080p video recording. The Note 3 Neo also comes fitted with a 2MP front-facing camera for video calls and selfies.
Samsung has fitted the Galaxy Note 3 Neo with a hexa-core chipset with two 1.7GHz Cortex-A15 cores and four 1.3GHz Cortex A7 cores. The advantage of the Hexacore processor is that the device will now be running all six cores simultaneously courtesy of Heterogeneous Multi-Processing (HMP). It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS.
Lastly, the device's connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, GPS/GLONASS and also a certain IR blaster (that's available depending on the region). TouchWiz will naturally be present with the device that will be juiced by a 3100mAh battery.
