Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Review: Camera
The Galaxy Note 4 offers a 16-megapixel camera, and that matches the Galaxy S5's megapixel count. However, the place where both can be differentiated lies in the fact that the bigger version of Samsung now includes optical image stabilization.
With the help of optical image stabilization over the somewhat dated digital image stabilization sees the phone doing a better job by reducing the blur and movement when shooting in low light. And you can even expect equal results when attempting night-time photography.
But it's not just the rear camera that's been offered so much love by Samsung on the Galaxy Note 4. The front facing snapper also comes around with a 90 degrees lens that lets you fit more friends into all the selfies that you can think of.
Samsung also doesn't forcibly fit in useless camera modes into the app, unlike what we have seen for the Xperia Z3. In fact, there are only four: auto, rear selfie mode, panorama and selective focus. However, there's still the option to install more modes as you may like.
There's also a sliding scale marking from 0 to 8, with the highest level making the image beyond anything that's funny or scary. And although it's a fun feature to play with, it still is pretty pointless when seen from the grander aspect of things.
On the main screen, however, at the top of the display you'll find a somewhat centralized HDR toggle. This is flanked by an option to switch between front and rear cameras and the settings menu. Also, in the settings, you will find exposure, ISO, white balance and metering.
