The scenario was no different when high end Smartphones were launched in India by various manufacturers. The companies were trying all the tricks in the trade to bring out absolutely the best in class. Smartphones were altogether in a different league though; the story still remains the same.
Today we take a look at one such battle existing between 2 rival phones. The phones are Samsung Galaxy S2 and Motorola XT720. Both are top of the line Smartphones from their respective manufacturers and they aim to make it big in India.
Both the phones are home to almost all the latest in entertainment and multimedia options that you would expect from a top end Smartphone these days. They have Softwares for Audio and Video playback in a number of known media formats. They also have high definition video contents.
The phones feature powerful cameras embedded in them. They have a resolution of 8 Mega Pixels and both the phones allow high definition video recording. But the Galaxy S2 provides 1080p video definition as compared to the 720p of the XT720.
On the memory front both have expandable memory options of upto 32 GB via Micro SD slots externally, but the Galaxy S2 has 2GB of internal memory compared to the 256 MB of the XT720. The Galaxy S2 also has a powerful processor compared to the Motorola model.
On the connectivity and communications front both the phones do not disappoint in any area. They are loaded with all the cool stuff you will ever need. Both the phones are equipped with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. They have 2G internet access technologies in common such as GPRS and EDGE.
Both the phones have 3G network supports but the Samsung model offer higher 3G data transfer rates of upto 21 Mbps compared to the 14 Mbps of the Motorola Model. The phones have FM radio support and has all the latest business and document editing apps for executives.
The major selling point of both the phones is however the price tags. The Motorola XT720, even though a tad weaker in certain features is a whole Rs.6000 cheaper than the Samsung model at Rs 21650. The Samsung Galaxy S2 is priced at Rs. 27500.
The battle is a closely fought one but our bet will be on the XT720 because of its aggressive price tag.
