Samsung Galaxy S3: Android Jelly Bean Update Halted in India Due to Technical Issues

It might have come as a shock for many Samsung users in India who were waiting for the Android Jelly Bean update. Samsung India has confirmed the suspension of Jelly Bean update for its Samsung Galaxy S3 device. The company was also quick to come with an explanation for that. According to the AndroidOS latest report, the folks over there have informed that Samsung has found some bugs in the update which could cause harm to the users.

Relatively, Samsung has clarified that they are trying to fix theses quickly and get the update ready for release soon. It is only two weeks since the Android 4.1 OTA update was released for its users.

In the e-mail sent to the users in the report, the technical support team was stated as saying, “We would like to inform you that update was released earlier by Samsung India for Galaxy S3 but now it is rolled back due to some technical reasons.” The e-mail also acknowledged the valuable feedback of its customers regarding some of the bugs and issues they faced while updating. The feedback has already been forwarded to the Product Innovation Team.

The update that was announced two weeks earlier for Samsung Galaxy S3 included;

  • New Live Camera

  • Camcorder Filters

  • Optimized indoor and low-light photos

  • Pop-up Play picture can be easily resized

  • Ability to disable incoming calls, LED indicators and other notifications for a period of time

Other key enhancements that came with the update include offline Google Voice Dictation and improved keyboard followed by expandable notifications.

It seems that Galaxy S3 users in India need to wait for some more time to get this Jelly Bean update OTA or as software update download.
