Galaxy S3, Note 2, S Duos, Ace Duos, Tab 2 310: Samsung Hikes Prices Due to Increase in Excise Duty
The Union Budget received mixed response from the manufacturers and consumers as far as the smartphone industry is concerned. The reason is that Finance Minister P. Chidambaram announced a 6% hike in the excise duty of all mobile phones priced over Rs 2,000.
Though the price hike will come into effect only from April, it seems like some manufacturers have already started having an effect on the same for few models. Market leader, Samsung seems to have come with crashing price hikes on its best selling smartphone models.
According to a BGR India report citing PriceBaba, a price search engine, the South Korean tech giant has increased the prices of its handsets following the increase in the excise duty. The smartphones that have received price cuts are best sellers including Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Ace Duos and Galaxy S Duos. However, this price hike is not only restricted to smartphones, as the company has also increased the price of Galaxy Tab 2 310 - the voice calling tablet.
It is to be noted that only recently Samsung Slashed the prices of the smartphones at different occasions in order to stay in the market constantly. Have a look at the gallery below to know the increased price tag of all these smartphones from Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy S3
