Samsung the South Korean tech giant unwrapped the Galaxy S3, the official smartphone of the Olympics 2012 at the special Unpacked Event on May 3 in London. The recent flagship smartphone of Samsung created vibrations in the tech world with its exclusive S software features and design.

Following the success of the handset, the world's largest smartphone manufacturer has released four new color options along with the Pebble Blue and Marble White options. The handset has marked a sales of 20 million in 100 days of its release and it is claimed by the company as the fastest selling smartphone ever.

On the specification front, the Galaxy S3 includes a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 2, protection.

Further, the Galaxy S3 is equipped with a quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A9 processor, 8MP rear camera, 1.9MP front camera, 16/32GB internal memory, micro SD card slot supporting up to 64GB expandable memory and 2,100 mAh Li-ion battery.

Currently, the S3 is flavored with the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, but it is upgradeable to the latest iteration of the OS – Android 4.1 Jelly Bean soon.

Also, the handset is packed with features like NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0.
