Samsung Galaxy S4 Beats iPhone 5 in Benchmarks: Coming to India in May At Rs 45000
Last week, amid much fanfare Samsung took the wraps off the highly anticipated Galaxy S4, and what everyone calls, it is the most eminent handset, the South Korean giant has ever come up with in the recent past in the terms of software, and also when it comes to smashing the Apple iPhone models.
Yes ! You heard it right, finally Samsung has come up with a device which has all the capabilities to dent the market of iPhone 5 completely and not only iPhone but also all the other Android heavyweights launched in the market reently. How is the tech world so sure about this? Well, there is a reason behind it!
Recently, to attest the potential of the Galaxy S4, Primate Labs, makers of the Geekbench app, took the mighty successor to their labs and did a benchmark test to check the performance of the behemoth. And the results were shocking! As not only did Galaxy S4 outmuscled iPhone 5 but also scored twice as much as the Apple smartphone. Reportedly, the Primate Labs chart also showed that the S4 is over twice as fast as the new HTC One and also S3.
John Poole's analysis quoted
The Samsung Galaxy S 4 is twice as fast as the Samsung Galaxy S 3. Given that the Samsung Galaxy S 3 is less than a year old, that's a remarkable achievement. I am amazed at how quickly smartphone technology is improving.
The Samsung Galaxy S 4 is also twice as fast as the Apple iPhone 5. Apple has improved performance dramatically in the past (there was 2.5x increase in performance from the iPhone 4S to the iPhone 5). Will they be able to make a similar improvement for the next iPhone?
Galaxy S4 scores were 3,163 was almost twice that of the Apple iPhone 5, which scored 1,596. While, HTC One took the second placed with 2,687, followed by LG Nexus 4 at 2,040. Then came Samsung Galaxy S3 (1,717) and iPhone 5 (1,596).
Well, the news is not over yet, as there is one more bit of information for those in India, who are awaiting for the handset's release at the earliest. Hold your breath guys! As Galaxy S4 is unofficially up for pre order in India online at Rs 999. Online retailer Tradus has listed the handsets on its online website, where they have noted, that interested buyers can book their Samsung Galaxy S4 online at a price of Rs 999. Once S4 will be launched in India, the site will mail a Gift Voucher Code to waive off Rs 999 from offer value and the users will be able to purchase the handset from any seller at Tradus. Not a bad deal after all!
Also the site has given the estimated time of launch and approximate price of the handset. According to the product listing on Tradus, Galaxy S4's , expected date of launch in India is schedule to be May 1, 2013 and expected launch price would fall around Rs 45,000.
For those who are still now aware, Samsung Galaxy S4, the flagship successor to the Galaxy S3has been launched running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS out of the box, sporting a 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with 1080p resolution, 441PPI, powered by Exynos 5410 1.8GHz Octa-core processor/Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core procesor, 2GB of RAM, PowerVR SGX 544MP3 GPU, a 13 megapixel Auto-Focus rear-facing camera with Zero shutter lag, 2 megapixels front-facing camera with 1080p video calling support, 16GB/32GB/64GB onboard storage, microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 64GB, MHL 2.0, 802.11 Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, NFC functionality, IR blaster, 2,600mAh removable battery, a whole host of the Google services, and all the regular features of an Android phone.
