Couple of days back it was reported that the South Korean mobile manufacturer had started pushing the software update to it's flagship best selling smartphone till now, the recently release S3 successor - Samsung Galaxy S4. Now the manufacturer has started rolling out a new software update for Galaxy S4 owners in India.

The update carries the same set of features including the transfer of Apps to SD support for better performance, which were released for GT-I9505 variant in Germany and select other countries a few days ago. Not only that but this new update also brings a lot of improvements and enhancements on the device and fixes the initial firmware of the Galaxy S4.

Now the Galaxy S4 will have a "semi-transparent" notification bar, and a new toggle that lets the users to turn Smart Pause on and off easily. It also fixes a smearing issue which led to users seeing a purple effect while scrolling a list on the phone. The update comes with new icons in settings and secure boot status and a new camera firmware which enables recording of HDR videos.

As GizBot mentioned earlier, the latest Samsung update for Galaxy S4 now gives access to the device to move all the apps from the phone memory to the SD card which increases the available phone storage capacity to 9.23GB. The massive update with the size of 365.67 MB will now give the Galaxy S4 a new feel.

Users may update their device via Samsung KIES or via OTA (Over-The-Air). To check update go to Settings of the phone and check About > Software Update.

Spec wise, Samsung Galaxy S4 boasts, 5 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors display, Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A15 with 2GB of RAM. The device runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, 13-mega pixel rear camera with advanced optics along with 2 megapixel front facing camera in addition to enhanced software additions. In terms of connectivity, you will get A-GPS, WI-Fi, 3G, LTE, DLNA, and Wi-Fi direct. The 16GB is the basic version in India which can expanded up to 64GB via microSD cards and is available at Rs 39,499. Also, Samsung Galaxy S4 is powered by a 2600mAh Li Ion battery.

Samsung Galaxy Grand Price Cut

This is not the end to the good news, as another Samsung handset which is selling like hot cakes in the Indian marketplace has just recently received a price cut. The dual SIM, stripped down phablet version of Galaxy S3 which was priced around Rs 20,000 is now available on online retailer site Saholic at a price tag of Rs 18,799 along with a free Samsung Genuine Flip Cover.

Just to remind, Galaxy Grand sports, 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution. The device is powered by Dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9 processor which is supported by 1GB RAM and runs on Android v4.1.2 Jelly Bean platform. Galaxy Grand Duos features a 8GB onboard storage with micro SD card slot supporting up to 64GB. Talking about camera, the device has a 8MP rear camera and 2MP front facing camera. Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS. In the end the Galaxy Grand Duos is powered by a 2,100 mAh battery.
