While Nexus 5 has started receiving the maintenance update for the KitKat 4.4.4 version in India, Samsung on the other hand is also initiating the KitKat update for its old devices.
It's Samsung's camera centric smarpthone- the Galaxy S4 zoom, which was launched last year that is going to be treated with the KitKat update. The update is now rolling out in Russia, carrying build number C101XXUBNF4.
As per the firmware details provided by SamMobile, the update will come with a Changelist number 1972456. The S4 zoom was initially launched with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS and finally it looks like Samsung has released it.
The update should include all the features and improvements of Android 4.4, such as performance tweaks which would make the device a bit faster. Moreover, users will also get a redesigned status bar, wireless printing support, full-screen album art and a camera shortcut on the lockscreen, and updated versions of a few Samsung apps.
Since the official change-log has not been released by Samsung, new features are yet to be known. However, tech pundits are speculating that the KitKat update might bring in few of the camera features of the Galaxy K Zoom to Galaxy S4 Zoom.
Obviously, the update will be released in phases and thus different regions will be receiving it in different dates. However, there are some impatient folks who doesn't want to wait. These guys can go ahead and check for the update manually by heading on to the Settings of the phone > About phone > Software updates menu.
