Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini Could be Water Resistant [ Report]

While the accurate sales figures are yet to be made public by Samsung, the Galaxy S5 is reportedly selling better than the iPhone 5S at launch, according to a study by iQmetrix.

In the mean time, Samsung has already planned to launch the mini version of the Galaxy S5 in coming months. Yes, you heard it right!

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini has reportedly been confirmed to be waterproof, just like the original Galaxy S5.
Not long ago, it was suggested that the mini version of the Galaxy S5 would be water resistant with an IP rating of IP67.

Now the same water proof feature has been confirmed by the official Samsung New Zealand website.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini To Be Waterproof ?

The official Samsung website suggests several warranty related info for the Galaxy S5 Mini. According to the site, the warranty is excluded if the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini is submerged in water for 30 minutes or more.

Moreover, the Galaxy S5, the Galaxy S5 Mini and the Galaxy S4 Active have similar water-proof features with mention of warranty exclusion for water damage.

Since the Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy S4 Active both have IP 67 certification, the mini variant of the Galaxy S5 will come with similar feature.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini -What we know so far?

Earlier last month, a phone carrying model number SM-870 was spotted allegedly on the web. It was reported that the SM-G870 could be the Galaxy S5 mini, as the ratio of its price compared to the Galaxy S5 is similar to that between the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 mini from last year.

Recently, SamMobile reported the Galaxy S5 Mini will be IP67 certified, just like the original model.

The Galaxy S5 Mini is said to sport a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED capacitive display (720p), a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, a 2-megapixel secondary camera for video calls, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, IR blaster and a 2100 mAh battery.
