Samsung Galaxy S5 Powered by Exynos CPU Gets Android 5.0 Update

The South-Korean giant has rolled out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Samsung Galaxy S5 Exynos variant, which was launched one month back for the Snapdragon version of the S5. The update is currently available in Kazakhstan and we expect it to reach other markets including India in the coming days. It will be rolled-out both over-the-air (OTA) as well as via Samsung Kies application.

Basically Android Lollipop 5.0 is a upgraded version of KitKat 4.4. This updates comes with new material design which offers a bold, colorful and responsive UI design, refreshing notification system. It allows the users to see the notification in the lock screen and heads up notification are displayed like banners on the top of the screen. Moreover, there is do-not-disturb feature also added in the notification bar.

This update also contains battery optimization, which includes battery saver mode, job scheduling and a new developer tool called Battery Historian which tracks the battery consumption by the apps.
