Samsung is currently all over the news for different reasons related to the recently released Galaxy S5 handset. While the device has received a lot of praise from everywhere, it has also been subjected to a few criticisms. However, the device itself is now a final product.
But with the release of the Galaxy S5 now out of the way, what's the next major thing from Samsung to look forward to going ahead? Actually there are two things. The first is the upcoming Galaxy Note 4 and the other being the next iteration of the Galaxy S series -- the Samsung Galaxy S6. We are concentrating on the S6 for the moment.
While details related to the specs of the device are few and far for the time being, recently we had a barrage of concept images for the handset that made it to all the leading tech sites across the world.
From the new images, Whatever little we have gathered until now, it seems like the concept shows off a curved screen that's free of bezels. Apart from that, there's 4GB of RAM and an Exynos 5433 64-bit processor. But we aren't sure if these will be the final specs.
So without any further delay, here are a few things we already know about the device. Again it is to be noted that nothing is final and everything has to be taken with a pinch of salt. Check below for the details.
Samsung may have confirmed that it will bring 3,840 x 2,160 pixel UHD displays for its upcoming smartphones in 2015, but it has been strongly speculated that the Samsung Galaxy S6 could arrive earlier before the idea is implemented. While other rumors claim that the S6 will probably mimic the new LG G3 by bringing a QHD display.
We had this rumor before the arrival of S5. And now we have the same with the S6. The common factor being a curved, flexible display. And although the company has openly made it known that it does intend to bring such kind of screens later down the line, chances are slim that the Galaxy S6 will be treated to curved screen. Maybe Samsung will have an entirely new range of handsets for that with the S6 following the traditional norm.
Sadly enough, there's hardly any news related to the kind of camera we might see with the Galaxy S6. However, rumors old and new have pointed toward the same 16MP sensor (that we see so often) with some minor improvements. While other talk of an even higher 20MP resolution.
More than half of the tech sites keeping a tab on anything related to the S6 havge claimed that the device will be powered by one of Qualcomm's 64-bit processors. The processors have already been announced and scheduled for an early 2015 release. So expect more power under the hoods later down the line.
While nothing can be said with certainty about the release date of the Samsung Galaxy S6, don't expect the device to arrive this year. While the Note 4 is a more probable release option this year with a tie in happening with IFA, expect the Galaxy S6 sometime next year during the next MWC event.
