Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Rumor Says Phablet to Sport Tablet Size 6.3-Inch Display and 8 Core Processor
Its 2013, and the tech world is entering into a new era of smartphone technologies. With that in mind, how can the top smartphone seller of 2012 be ignored. Yes! You have guessed it right! The talk is about Samsung and its upcoming flagship models planned for the roadmap of this year.
Already Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is selling like a hotcake in the tech arena across the globe, and the news about its gigantic successor has already sparked in the tech amphitheater.
Going by the latest report from the folks at Korea Times, Samsung is working on a tablet size Note 2 successor - a 6.3 inch Galaxy Note 3. And reports have claimed that the upcoming heavyweight is going to escalate its competition from the phablet market to the likes of miniature tablets including Apple iPad Mini and Google Nexus 7 and event to some extent Amazon Kindle Fire 2.
Adding little more to the provided information, the latest report has also revealed that Galaxy Note 3 will arrive on the retail shelves powered by the hefty Samsung Exynos Octa processor, announced at CES 2013 recently. Talking about Galaxy Note 2, it is powered by a quad core Exynos chip, which is twice less powerful than the former unveiled recently.
For those who are not aware, Exynos Octa chip was announced featuring four ARM Cortex A7 processors and four ARM Cortex A15 processors. Further the new processor will also enhance the battery life of the handsets, compared to current quad core processors. While the GPU configuration was not announced by Samsung, AnandTech has reported that the eight core processor will have 533MHz PowerVR SGX 544MP3 GPU.
Interestingly, the report also revealed that Samsung is supposed to be pitching some of its processing products to China based smartphone manufacturers, in order to lessen the dependency on Cupertino-based tech titan Apple. It is to be noted that company has already reached out to the likes of Huawei and ZTE.
A senior Samsung official is reported to have said at CES: "We have introduced the Exynos 5 Octa to appeal to Chinese clients and diversify our client base in China with better pricing and output commitment."
Meanwhile, reports in the past have also disclosed that Galaxy Note 3 will come equipped with a huge battery and that "the human hand can only hold so much." At the same time ongoing rumors also suggest that rumored Galaxy Note 3 will run on Android 5.5 Key Lime Pie OS, 16 Megapixel rear camera with auto focus, LED flash and BSI, 3 Megapixel front camera with 'Best Photo,' 'Best Faces,' low light show and BSI, 32, 64 and 128 GB memory options, 3 GB of RAM, 4,000 mAh Li-on battery all in dimensions and weight of 84.9 x 161.9 x 8.9 mm and 220 grams respectively. While, the launch date is estimated to be around MWC or later this year.
