Samsung Rolls Out Update for Galaxy Gear to Enhance Battery Life
The Galaxy Gear, Samsung's answer to the Sony SmartWatch 2, is getting a major update in the US and other major territories in the last week of November. The new update could benefit current owners of Galaxy G.
With the new update, Galaxy Gear will receive full notification from third-party. Earlier the Galaxy Gear was unable to display full notification from third-party applications. From now onwards, users will be able to read incoming "Gmail messages, Facebook Messenger pings, Twitter mentions", informs Engadget.
Moreover, the update is already live for users residing in Europe. It should be noted that some Galaxy Gear owners in Europe have apparently claimed that the device now offers better than expected battery life.

Meanwhile, Samsung has also improved basic features of Smart Relay feature. Reportedly, the update will improve lift-and-pause gesture that actually activates the clock.
Samsung India promised to release "Galaxy Gear compatibility software" update for six handsets (Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy S4 mini, Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Galaxy S4 zoom) in order to get compatible with the Galaxy Gear.
Galaxy Gear-Highlighted Specifications
Samsung Galaxy Gear features a 1.63-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels. Under the hood, there is a single core 800MHZ processor coupled with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory.
Samsung promises up to 25 + hours of battery backup. Samsung Galaxy Gear comes in six dashing colors. The design of Galaxy Gear matters most to a smart watch buyer.
A solid metallic frame (or dial) gives the watch solid feel. It's little chunky and over the top. You can change rubberized wrist bands as per your choice. The watch also comes with a 1.9-mega pixel BSI sensor and 10-second 720p HD video recording is also possible. The makers have added a 315mAh non-removable battery.
The control scheme is quite interesting. You can control the watch via your voice. There are two mics built-in for noise cancellation. Also add a loud speaker. Samsung S Voice is also compatible with Gear smart watch.
