Earlier this year, Samsung boldly revealed the Galaxy Note Edge, which featured a curved screen providing space for notifications and other controls.

Back then, it was said that Samsung would never bring the Galaxy Note Edge due to the high cost attached with the device. Well, looks like all estimates were wrong, as Samsung is all geared up to launch the crazy beast in India.

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge - Highlighted Specifications

The Galaxy Note Edge is same as the Note 4, at least in respect of specifications and features on offer. The Galaxy Note Edge sports a 5.6-inch Super AMOLED display having a resolution of 2560 x 1440-pixels.

Like the Note 4, it has a 2.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB of native storage and a microSD card slot. The high-end phone is also powered by a 3000mAh battery. The Galaxy Note Edge runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with TouchWiz UI. Other connectivity features are similar to the Note 4.

The Galaxy Note Edge has a slightly smaller screen at 5.6-inches, compared to Note 4's 5.7-inch display. However there's one major difference between the two devices. The 5.6-inch screen makes room for a new edge. Yes, you heard that right!

The main purpose for having such a screen is make information more accessible whenever you want. Basically, the Note Edge's display acts as an extended ticker. The ticker bar also acts as an app tray for an easy access to applications.

What hasn't been shown in the advert is the release date of the Galaxy Note Edge. The Galaxy Note Edge is rumored to launch in India by January 2015. The device could be priced upwards of Rs. 65,000. As usual, we'll be tracking this story very closely.
