Following a series of leaks and rumours regarding the possible unveiling of a Samsung-made Galaxy J1 handset on January 14, it seems that the world debut of the purposed device will take place in India. Yes, you heard that right!

Samsung has already started to disseminate press invites to local media for an event that is scheduled to take place in New Delhi on January 14. The press event is happening at 11:45am (India time) on January 14, something that has already been rumoured for so long.

While the invitation itself doesn't show us much, there is a small hint making us suspect we will be seeing the purported "Galaxy J1". The invite simply asks media to "come, enjoy Samsung's next product', which more likely indicate a new handset under Samsung's upcoming line of smartphones.

It isn't clear whether Samsung will introduce the Galaxy J1 on January 14. However, if go by a series of leaked pages of a promotional leaflet (via Sam Mobile), the Jan 14 release date in the alleged images suggests that we may see the arrival of the Galaxy J1 soon.

Samsung Galaxy J1 to launch on January 14 in India?

Now it's apparent to everyone that Samsung has planned a press event in Delhi where it could unveil the Galaxy J1 - the new, low-end Android-based smartphone.

As far as the phone's specs are concerned, the Galaxy J1 is supposed to flaunt a 4.3-inch (480 x 800) pixel resolution display, a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core processor from Marvell, 1GB of RAM, 4G LTE and Single SIM or Dual-SIM. The handset is expected to get an Ultra Power Saving mode, too. The phone will be based on Android v4.4 (KitKat) with Samsung's TouchWiz UI on top.

So far, Samsung hasn't launched any LTE capable handset below Rs. 10,000 price mark in India. Hence,the Galaxy J1 is very crucial for the Indian market. It has to succeed, to put Samsung back into the mainstream entry-level Indian smartphone market.
