With the advent of android operating system many mobile manufactures have swapped their existing mobile platform with it. With the rising popularity of android devices many manufacturers are coming up with new android mobiles too.

The android lovers can be happy that Sharp has also come up with their own android model. This device is named as Sharp AQUOS SH-01D.

The phone is not yet launched but it is expected to hit the market in the first week of December. It will be launched in Japan first via NTT Docomo. The phone comes in three colour options; Blue, black and white. The device looks stylish with its large display that almost takes in the whole of the front portion and small buttons provided at the bottom.

The sides of the phone as well as the back portion will be highlighted by the chosen Colour. The thickness of the phone is just 9.7 mm. Even though the phone may look a bit big it is actually very compact and fits perfectly in your palm. The phone weighs about 138 grams.

The name Aquos come from the fact that the mobile-phone is water proof. So you don’t have to be afraid of using the mobile outside even when it is raining. This is a very unusual yet very practical feature in the phone. It must have been a somewhat very difficult task to make the whole phone water proof. The dedication and technical knowledge of Sharp's engineers has made possible this Herculean task.

The display of this phone is another engineering marvel. The screen has a size of 4.5 inches which itself is a big one and one of the biggest in its class. The screen offers high definition visuals and packs in a resolution of about 1280 x 720 pixels. The screen is of parallax barrier type and it can provide 3D visuals. Usually for viewing 3D visuals, the user is supposed to be wearing specially designed glasses. But this is not the case with Sharp Aquos SH-01D.

The specially designed screen and its coating can provide 3D visuals even without an extra viewing device. This will make it a pure pleasure to enjoy the visuals on the mobile.

Sharp Aquos SH01 works using a dual core 1GHz OMAP 4430 processor. The device has two cameras. The main camera packs in a resolution of about 12 mega pixels. This must be one of the few smart phones that incorporate such a high resolution camera in it.

This high resolution camera lets you take images and record videos with very high quality. So by using it you can completely do away with another imaging device. The front camera is mainly intended for video calling applications.

The external memory can be increased to about 32 GB by the addition of a microSD memory card. The phone runs with Android 2.3 operating system. Its battery can provide a talk time of about 450 minutes in 3G network and about 290 minutes in GSM network.

It will also contain other features like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS etc. Sharp Aquos SH01 price in India is not yet known but can be expected to be affordable.
