Tata Indicom Launches SMS Express
Tata Indicom has now come out with a new special offer christened SMS Express that can be availed by all its pre-paid customers across its various operating circles. The details of the offer are as follows.
Customers availing this offer have to initially purchase the SMS Express handset which is the Alcatel OT-255C. Then they have to make a Rs 55 first recharge by recharging with a recharge voucher of Rs 55 denomination. After they have done so, then the customer"s prepaid account will be credited with 100 free national SMS"s everyday for the following 60 day period.
The recharge does not end with just the message offer. In addition to it, the customer will also be getting Rs 29 credited to their regular talk time account. If the customer sends more than the free 100 SMS he is entitled to receive, then he will be charged a nominal 50 paisa per SMS. The call rate is fixed at 1 Paisa per second for local and national calls.
The user of the SMS Express handset will be offered a free starter kit along with the purchase of each Alcatel handset which will also enable them to utilise all the benefits of the FRC of Rs 55.
The regional head of Tata Teleservices Mr S. Ramakrishna was quoted as saying that the company aims to surprise the Indian customers with the offer. He says that customers will be delighted to be offered a stylish, attractive and functionally rich phone with a price tag of Rs 1149. And along with that the benefits of the Rs 55 recharge that offers 100 free national SMS a day for a 60 day period will aid as an added Bonanza.
The affordable SMS Express handset has features such as Group SMS, instant SMS key, QWERTY keypad, FM radio large storage capacity for 500 SMS and 500 Phone contacts, etc. the instant SMS or Quick SMS key mentioned earlier allows a user to launch a SMS composer screen to type a long SMS of upto 1024 Character length at a time.
The SMS Express handset is currently available with 2 colour options i.e. Titanium Grey and Red. With an unmatched price tag of Rs 1149, Tata Indicom looks to have struck it right this time.
