Xperia SP up for Pre Order on Infibeam at Rs 25490: 5 Reasons to Buy Xperia Z Younger Kin
Soon after hitting the Indian smartphone arena with the Xperia Z and ZL, Sony has announced the launch of another handset - Xperia SP at Rs 27,490. It seems like the Japanese tech giant is highly concentrating on the Indian market in order to increase its smartphone market share.
The Xperia SP was announced alongside Xperia L and the former is considered the younger kin of Xperia Z as it boasts almost similar looks and a lesser price tag.
Xperia SP was launched with a price tag of Rs 27,490, but online retailer site Infibeam has listed the handset for pre-order at a discounted price of Rs 25,490. The listing claims that the Xperia SP will be released on April 23, 2013 and that it will be shipped in 2 to 3 days from the date of release.
To remind of specs, Xperia SP packs a 4.6 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 technology, 1.7GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 8MP rear camera with autofocus and Exmor RS technology, VGA front camera for video calling, 8GB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS, NFC and a 2,370 mAh battery.

Now, given that the Xperia SP is a downsized alternative of the flagship smartphone - Xperia Z, there are a plethora of mid-range offerings available in the market at that price point. Hence, Gizbot has come up with the reasons to buy Xperia SP, available on pre-order.
Mobile Bravia Engine 2
Xperia SP comes with a full HD 1080p Mobile Bravia Engine 2 display with excellent viewing experience alongside superior clarity and brightness.
Exmor RS and HDR Technology
Sony has incorporated excellent camera capabilities in Xperia SP with 8MP rear Exmor RS rear camera, which has capabilities as Sony digital cameras. Also, the camera has HDR (High Dynamic Range) support, giving clear images against strong backlight enabling users to capture sharp pictures and videos.
Battery Stamina Mode
Xperia SP also includes Battery STAMINA Mode that can improve the standby time by four times or more by automatically shutting down battery-draining apps whenever the screen is off and starting them up again when the screen is back on.
Media applications
Sony media applications including Walkman, Album and Movies offer a consistent entertainment experience across a range of Sony devices. Walkman application provides access to all downloaded music, a library of 18 million songs to explore from Music Unlimited and Facebook social integration. Movies application gives consumers access to over 100,000 movies and TV series from Video Unlimited while the Album application enables easy access to Facebook friends' photos as well as browsing photos by location.
One-touch functions
One-touch functions enable consumers to easily share music, photos and videos from their smartphone to an array of NFC-enabled Sony devices, including speakers, headphones and now TVs.
