Sony Releases Android KitKat Update For Xperia M2 and M2 Dual
After rolling out the 4.4 KitKat update for Xperia E1 and E1 Dual earlier this month, Sony has now released the same update for its latest Xperia M2 and M2 Dual smartphones.

However, the company had earlier promised to launch the Android 4.4 KitKat update for Xperia M2 and M2 dual smartphones. However, in the selected countries in Europe and Asia the update was released last week. Since the update is released based on carrier and market, the Xperia M2 and M2 Dual users in other markets can at least expect it to arrive in the coming weeks.

Talking about the changes and tweaks, Sony has also published an official change-log of the Android KitKat update on its official website.

Apart from the few performance tweaks here and there, some of the functionalities you can look forward to after the installation of the update include: UI optimization and tweaked Status Bar and Quick Settings, which are now more intuitive and customizable and you will only get the notifications you really need.
The company has added the same sleek launch animation and live wallpaper across the lock and home screens adopting from Play Station 4.
After the update is installed, users will also get a better storage choice. Precisely, users will now have the option to easily move applications from internal memory to SD card.
Most of the native apps will also be tweaked to the latest versions. Applications such as Messaging, Smart Connect, TrackID, What's New, and Battery STAMINA Mode, Walkman, Album and Movies will find same cahnges.
Also the Xperia Themes support with downloadable UI packs can be found now. Also the update will bring the device closer to SmartWear Experience including: SmartBand SWR10 and Lifelog app.
The update is available via PC Companion/ Bridge for Mac applications. You can also try looking for it over-the-air by going to Settings > About Phone > Software update.
