Like any other smartphone maker, Sony, Japan's biggest exporter of consumer electronics, is equally excited to reveal "something extraordinary" at this year's MWC tech show.

For quite some time, we have been hearing rumors of all kinds related to Sony's next-generation high-end phone, dubbed as "Sirius".

As of now, the forthcoming Android-powered handset is rumored to sport a 5.2-inch 2K display, latest quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 20.7MP rear-facing camera with 4K video recording facility.

The new teaser video posted by Sony points to the coming of much hyped "Xperia Z2". Although, the 16-seconds video doesn't really give much description of what's coming our way.

However, the teaser does confirm that there will be something related to "Xperia" waiting to be explored.

Well, Sony is long rumored to reveal a new tablet device at the MWC 2014, besides talks about Sony D6503 (Xperia Z2) and the Xperia G. The makers behind PlayStation 4 will be showcasing their yet-to-be announced device on February 24 in Barcelona, Spain.

Sony @MWC 2014: What to expect?

Sony Xperia Z2

Sony's next-flagship handset would be announced in just six months from the release of Xperia Z1. It is obvious to expect major improvements in the camera and display department. Rumor has it that Sony will announce the Xperia Z2 with a 5.2-inch edge-to-edge display having a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels (2K display).

It will be powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core processor powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC, backed by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The phone is said to be waterproof and dustproof, which may not be shocker for some. On the camera front, the much talked about handset will come equipped with a 20.7MP rear-facing camera with all new User interface (UI), and ability to record videos in 4K resolution.

The handset will run Android 4.4 Kitkat out of the box. The Xperia Z2 India release date is expected to be revealed at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain.
