Sony India: Xperia Z, ZL to Hit Stores Next Week at Rs 38990, Rs 36990; Tablet to Release in May

Well, the Sony event scheduled to happen in New Delhi has ended now and Xperia Z, Xperia ZL along with Xperia Tablet Z have been launched in India by Bollywood Actor Katrina Kaif, who is the brand ambassador of the lineup.

Just before the pre-launch event, the Sony handsets surfaced on Flipkart for pre-order at Rs 38,990 and Rs 35,990. Now, at the event, prices of these smartphones have been confirmed at Rs 38,990 and Rs 36,990 respectively. However, the price of the tablet remains unknown.

Availability

Xperia Z and ZL will be available for pre-order from today itself and will released into the market in the next week. On the other hand, the Xperia Tablet Z will be released into the market in May.

Key Specs and Features

According to the company press release, all the devices will have sleek design, razor sharp Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, Battery Stamina Mode and more. Further, they come with high resolution camera features that offer superior quality images without any pixelation issues.

Speaking of specifications, both Xperia Z and Xperia ZL pack a 5 inch full HD capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and with Mobile Bravia Engine 2, quad core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, 13MP rear camera, 2.2MP front camera for video calling, 16GB internal storage, 2GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC.

At the same time, Xperia Tablet Z packs a 10.1 inch Reality Display with a full HD screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, 1.5GHz quad core processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 8MP Exynos R rear camera, 2MP front camera for video chatting, 16GB/32GB onboard storage, 2GB RAM, a micro SD card slot supporting expandable storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, 3G and a 6,000 mAh battery.

Xperia Z, ZL and Tablet Z feature a standout feature in terms of aesthetics - OmniBalance, which let them have rounded edges and smooth reflective surfaces on the sides. Also, these device come with a full HD 1080p Mobile Bravia Engine 2 display with excellent viewing experience alongside superior clarity and brightness offering a brilliant TV-like viewing experience.

Also, the camera featured in the devices come with Sony's Exmor RS technology, which makes them similar to digital cameras in terms of image quality. Moreover, they also come with HDR technology, which offers cperia Z comes with a full HD 1080p Mobile Bravia Engine 2 display with excellent viewing experience alongside superior clarity and brightness offering a brilliant TV-like viewing experience.

Further, the new lineup of Xperia devices have Sony's unique Battery Stamina Mode, which increases the backup of the devices significantly. The feature automatically managing the applications. It shuts down apps whenever the screen is off and again starts them when the screen is turned on.

Being Sony devices, Xperia Z, ZL and Tablet Z come with Sony's media applications including Walkman, Album and Movies to offer enhanced entertainment experience. Walkman provides access to downloaded music and over 18 million songs in Music Unlimited and Facebook social integration.

The Movies application provides access to over 100,000 movies and TV series from Video Unlimited. Album application offers easy access to friends' photos on Facebook and also allows browsing photos by location.

Moreover, the devices have One-touch NFC sharing functions allowing consumers to share multimedia content easily to the other devices from Sony.

In India, Vodafone will offer free 8GB of 3G data for two months along with Xperia Z and Xperia ZL smartphones.
