Sony Xperia Z1 Compact Successor Passes FCC Test
If we look at cell phones such as the Xperia Z1, then market share doesn't matter much. No matter what other tech vendors seem to do, Japan's Sony will always remain to stick to its own ideology.
By and large, Sony has not been able to stop the growing dominance of Samsung and Apple in most parts of the world. Despite its best efforts, the company still struggles in the high-end market segment.
To make sure consumers don't forget Sony, the company is expected to release yet another high-end phone into market.
The successor to the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is on the way, and it may get launch sooner than expected.
The Sony Xperia Z2 Compact may have passed through the FCC with the model number SO-04F.
If we have a closer look at the model number SO-04F, it would remind you of Z1 Compact SO-02F. The Sony Xperia Z1 was the S0-01F, so it would be logical to assume that something new is surely coming our way.
Further, according to the FCC listing, the Xperia Z2 Compact measures up a 127.6 x 65.5mm. The device is slightly larger than the original Z1 Compact. In fact, leaked images of the Z2 Compact (rear-back) shows off a 1/2.3", 20.7MP sensor and Sony G Lens. If we look closer, then the new device could have a 4.5-inch display, instead of the 4.3-inch Xperia Z1 Compact.
As of now, there's no update available as to when the Sony Xperia Z2 Compact goes official globally.
Currently, Sony is facing difficulties producing enough Xperia Z2 handsets to feed the growing demand. And the company is yet to launch the Xperia Z2 into Indian market just yet.
The original Xperia Z1 Compact, which went on sale in India a few days back, can be purchased for as low as Rs. 33,000 through online retailers.
