The CES, 2014 has already come up to the threshold and several smartphone manufacturers have already started announcing their devices ahead of the event that is taking place in Las Vegas. Japan based Sony will also be revealing an array of devices including home appliances and smart devices at the same event.
Moreover, the company has also released a press invite in China dated to January 14th. However, the press invite doesn't reveal anything pertaining to the devices as such but just a paint brush strokes in four colors viz. Lime, Black, White and Pink. Now the speculations are that this could mean that the company could possibly launch the Xperia Z1 mini.
The interpretation that have come up, suggests that the color strokes in the press invite matches the color variants of the Sony Xperia Z1 f (SO-02F), which is a Japanese variant of the Xperia Z1 mini that was released for NTT Docomo last year. Thus, culminating it, chances are there to see the international variant of the device at the CES, 2014. If not you'll have to wait a bit more.
When it comes to the differences between the two variants, there are not much. The only difference is the design. Other features and specs remain intact.
In short, the smartphone comes with a 4.3-inch Triluminos Display offering HD resolution of 1280 x 720pixels along with X-Reality engine. The smartphone will be powered by 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and will run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS.
There would be a similar 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Sony G lens with a 27mm wide angle f/2.0 aperture custom 1/2.3″ Sony Exmor RS image sensor, BIONZ image processing engine, 1080p video recording and a 2-megapixel HD front-facing camera, similar to original Xperia Z1.
There would also be a 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and IP55/IP58 certification for dust and water resistance. The device would be powered by a 2300mAh battery.
