Sony Xperia Z2 Vs LG G Flex: And The Cake for Better Smartphone Goes to...
Smartphones are not unusual these days, especially with a host of different manufacturers making their presence felt in the market like Samsung, Apple and HTC.
We have a number of smartphone launches almost everyday, something that was not even mainstream even 5-7 years back. But in the current generation, with even Indian manufacturers coming to the front with their own set of smartphones, it seems like fans can expect more.
In recent times, while there have been a major inflow of new companies, and two such companies that have actually their presence known are Sony and LG with their own Xperia Z2 and G Flex offerings, respectively.
While Sony, as usual, is looking to produce the perfect device in terms of all specification, with the new Xperia Z2 also living up to a lot of expectations, LG is still looking to make a strong impact on the market with a lot of hope pinned on the device.
But keeping aside all others in the list of smartphones, how does both Xperia Z2 and the LG G Flex work out against each other, when compared side by side? Let's take a look.
Operating System
Not much to choose from here since both the devices come running Google's Android operating system. However, Sony hold the advantage here since the Z2 comes directly with Android KitKat out of the box.

Display and Dimensions
The Sony-made Xperia Z2 sports a 5.2-inch IPS LCD capacitive touch screen, while rendering 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. Also, the device's overall dimensions measure up to 146.8 x 73.3 x 8.2 mm.
The LG G Flex, on the other hand, sports a slightly greater 6-inch Curved P-OLED capacitive touch screen, while rendering 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. The device's overall dimensions measure up to 160.5 x 81.6 x 8.7 mm, and weighs in at 177 grams.
Camera
The LG G FLex, in the camera department, offers a 13-megapixel primary camera, sporting a mammoth pixel resolution of 4160 x 3120 pixels, with autofocus and LED flash. The device also has a secondary 2.1-megapixel camera on board that's more than enough for conducting video chats.
The Sony Xperia Z2, in this instance, offers a 20.7-megapixel primary camera, sporting a mammoth pixel resolution of 5248 х 3936 pixels, with autofocus and dual LED flash. The device also has a secondary 2.2-megapixel camera, again for conducting video chats.
Processors
Both the devices come sporting processors with impressive performance and great horsepower that's only expected from new-gen devices.
While the Sony Xperia Z2 is equipped with a quad core 2.3 GHz Krait processor, the LG G Flex comes bearing a 2.26 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor.
Storage and RAM
The Sony Xperia Z2 offers 3GB of RAM to users while offering the device in a 32 GB internal memory variant. Moreover, there's the option to expand the device's memory up to 128GB as an external microSD slot for additional memory is also present.
The LG G Pro 2, however, offers 2GB of RAM to users while offering the device in a 32 GB internal memory variant. Sadly though, there's no option to expand the device's memory as an external microSD slot for additional memory is missing.
Battery
While the LG G Flex juices up the device via a massive 3500 mAh battery, the Sony Xperia Z2 comes sporting a slightly lesser 3200 mAh battery.
Pricing
While the Xperia Z2 is set to be available at Rs. 49,990, its LG counterpart has priced the G Flex handset at Rs. 60,004.
Verdict
Both the G Glex and Xpera Z2 are great smartphones with impressive hardware that one can actually expect from high-end smartphones in the current generation.
However, as far as taking the cake is concerned, with the Indian market in mind, it seems like if a user will indeed have to shell out for a device, he might go for the Sony-made Xperia Z2. And moreover, if a brand can be considered, it seems like more and more fans will flock toward the Xperia Z2.
