Sony's highly awaited smartphone, the Xperia Z2, has finally launched in India at the price of Rs. 49,990. The device will be offered in three color variants viz. Black, White and Purple. It also comes with a protective cover worth Rs. 2,990 and Smartband worth Rs. 5,990 for free. It would be available across India starting from May 12th.
The competitor of Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8 from Sony, as usual, offers the best of the camera features, while it's needless to say that it is a waterproof device very much like its predecessors. Sony Xperia Z2, as the name suggests, is the successor of the company's last year's Xperia Z1 smartphone. Sony Xperia Z2 comes with high-end specs and is par with that of Samsung and HTC's flagship device launched recently.
Going into the details of the hardware of the Sony Xperia Z2, the company has has used its latest Sony TV display technologies optimised for mobile in the phone. It features a 5.2-inch Full HD Triluminos display with Live Colour LED powered by X-Reality engine (1920 x 1080p), and a pixel density of 424 ppi. There is a LED panel with IPS technology for better imagining present in the phone.
The device measures 146.8 x 73.3 x 8.2 mm and weighs 163 grams, and it is IP58 certified - dust proof and water resistant over 1 meter and 30 minutes.
The handset is powered by this year's most used Qualcomm chipset, the snapdragon 801 quad core processor clocked at 2.3 GHz and Adreno 330 GPU coupled with 3GB of RAM. It runs on Google's Android 4.4 (Kitkat) OS.
Camera is one of the very important aspect of the phone as it is loaded with heavy imaging hardware. The 20.7 MP camera is the first thing in the phone that will definitely impress you. Moreover the Xperia Z2 combines 4K video capture with a large 1.1 cm 20.7 MP Exmor RS for mobile image sensor, Sony's G Lens and the intelligent BIONZ for mobile image-processing engine has been used to enhance the imaging capabilities in the smartphone. At the front, you will get a 2MP sensor.

The Xperia Z2 smartphone is powered by a 3200 mAh battery. According to Sony, it will offer a talktime of up to 19hours, standby time of up to 740 hours, music listening time of up to 120 hours and video playback time of up to 10 hours.
