It is a known fact that Sony likes to refresh its flagship phones twice a year. The successor to the famed Xperia Z2 sometime later in the year, likely at the IFA Berlin tech show. The high-end handset may be called as the Xperia Z3, and it could joined by a mini version dubbed Xperia Z3 Compact.
The rumored Sony Xperia Z3 Compact has been in the news for quite some time. Today, however, the mini version of the forthcoming Xperia Z3 has emerged on the web. An alleged tweet coming from DooMLoRD offers a slight peek-a-boo at some of specifications of the upcoming mini device.
Apparently, the upcoming mystery phone sport model number D580x and will be called either Xperia Z3 mini or Xperia Z3 Compact. Spec-wise, the min version of the Xperia Z3 is expected to come with a 4.5-inch FHD display, a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 graphics, alongside a modest 2GB of RAM. On the imaging front, the compact handset will feature a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing shooter.
At the same time, the new report claims that Sony is currently testing the Xperia Z3 Min with the Android 4.4.2 Kitkat; though the device might come with the latest version at launch. No more details about the device have been made available.
