It is logical to expect more than one variant of the same device these days, and we have already seen that in the case of Samsung, HTC, LG and others as well. These variants are mostly dependent on the basis of carrier partners, market-wise or even with some hardware variations.
One of the smartphone maker which has surfaced online recently, has somewhat similar story. We are talking about the number of smartphone devices from Japanese smartphone maker Sony, of course. The rumored successor of the Xperia Z2 is rumored to become official before the end of this year.
We already had a number of model numbers pertaining to the supposed Xperia Z3. Now some more variants have arrived. To be precise, a listing on TUV Rheinland shows that Sony is preparing a new device for release, with model numbers PM-0800-BV (D6603), PM-0804-BV (D6643), PM-0801-BV (D6616), PM-0806-BV (D6653), PM-0802-BV, PM-0803-BV, and PM-0807-BV attached to it.
However, as said earlier, this is not the first time that some of these device variants have emerged online. The model numbers such as D6603 and D6653 are already associated with a Xperia Z2 successor, and chances are that the remaining variants could arrive on shelves as variants of the same smartphone.
If availability of the device is a major concern, Sony Xperia Z3 smartphone could be made official this fall at the IFA 2014 trade fair in Berlin. Moreover, the D6603 could be the international flavor of the phone, with the rest of the models expected to land on shelves as carrier- and market-specific variants.
