When asked about how Sony Xperia Z is doing in India.
The executive over at Sony proudly announced that the handset is selling like hot cakes. Again accurate numbers were not shared with us. Sony has no plans to introduce updated lower-end Android models at present. The makers are happy with Sony Xperia E and the Xperia Tipo. Both are priced under Rs.10, 000 in the Indian market.
While talking to GizBot, the executive over at Sony stated clearly that being a premium brand; it won't make any sense to compare with Indian tech vendors. The company could announce their first 4G LTE handset later this year for the Indian market. Another big player LG is also in a process to announce 4G LTE smartphone in the Indian market something this year.
One thing is clear, Sony believes that Apple and Samsung are its viable competitors and the company is working hard to build its image especially in a market like India.
