With the arrival of 2013, Sony Mobile is having a tough time trying to control rumors spreading around the launch of Yuga and Odin handsets. Earlier there was a rumor that Odin will be retailed as Xperia X and is nothing but a dual SIM version of Yuga (Xperia Z). Now it seems to be something different. Images of Sony Xperia ZL (Odin) previously named Sony Xperia Odin has been recently leaked in a press render along with Xperia Z.

As per the information, this will be a high-end phone that will set foot in the markets on January 7, a day ahead of Consumer Electronics Show 2013. The new phone remains unique and exclusive in comparison with its sibling Xperia Z. The images of the phone were made available in Sony's official website.

Sony Xperia Z and ZL Odin First Official Press Shots Revealed

The name of the phone is Xperia ZL, as seen in the images, which will be its retail name and not Xperia X as rumored. The actual appearance of the phone remained a mystery until the images were leaked. The smartphone is reportedly coming with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, a powerful 1.5 quad-core snapdragon S4 pro processor, 13 mega-pixel rear camera with Exmor RS sensor, 2 GB RAM and a micro SD slot. The phone also boasts a 5-inch display and will have a patterned plastic back, something similar to that of Xperia E dual.

The reports state that the new phone is thicker and heavier than Xperia Z. The front camera of the phone is placed on the bottom and is something unusual. The phone is supposed to get an IP57 certification just like Sony Xperia Z. The images of ZL/Odin which came out earlier could be that of some other phone or of an initial prototype which did not have a final design.
