The Spice Mi-535 is an aesthetically looking smartphone with great build quality and above average performance. After using this phone for more than 20 days, GizBot found the rear back camera isn't appealing, while the battery lasts up to 6-7 hours on a regular usage.
The massive 5.3-inch qHD display performed well in our tests. Priced at Rs. 13,299 (Saholic.com), the makers could have opted for 720p HD display. Nonetheless, the Spice Stellar Pinnacle Pro Mi-525, is a serious contender for the best smartphones under Rs. 15,000. First read the detailed review and then decide whether it's a hit or miss.

Design, Display, Aesthetics
The Spice Mi-535 surprised us with its outstanding build quality. Without any doubt, the phone fares well in comparison to other smartphones priced at same bracket. The handset is made of polycarbonate plastic; however, the quality is better than the rest and looks solid in hands. The display size is large enough to watch full length movies with ease.
The phone comes with a 5.3-inch qHD display having resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. In our tests, we couldn't find a single fault when it comes to display going by the price point. The touch response is great and very fluid. Surprisingly, it wasn't difficult to read texts under direct sunlight. While other tech vendors are selling their respective smartphones having 720p HD display, in that case the makers behind Spice Mi- 535 could have opted for HD panel.
Coming to the design part, the team behind Spice Mi- 535 tries to be too simplistic in nature. On the front panel, you will notice a 5-mega pixel front facing camera and earpiece alongside. The LED indicator has been placed inside the earpiece. The indicator changes its colors, according to different occasions.
Below the display, you will notice standard three capacitive android buttons. On the top of the phone, a 3.5mm headphone jack along with power button and mini USB 2.0. The volume rocker and a physical Camera key have been placed on the right hand side of the phone, while the microphone is seen at the extreme left down the edges of the phone.
On the rear back of the handset, an 8-mega pixel camera with Dual LED Flash light and another microphone sits at its left. The rear back panel also houses speakers. Like every smartphone, you can change the rear back cover and remove the battery or change existing SIM/ microSD card.
Even though the phone is made of plastic, but you never realize the plastic feel. The device is bit heavier at 196grams. Overall, it's an impressive handset, but Spice Mobility should be careful while designing their handsets. If you look closely, the Spice Mi-535 shares similarity with Nexus 4.
